📸: Wannabe A Spice Girls Tribute

In 1996, The Spice Girls told us what we wanted, what we REALLY, REALLY wanted. And ever since I was a tiny youth in elementary school, I wanted to be a Spice Girl.

(One Christmas, my parents gifted me a Baby Spice doll [I still have it] even though I asked for Sporty Spice [Don’t worry, Grandma came through]. I regularly tried to dress her up with a high ponytail complete with a gold Rolo chocolate wrapper on my tooth to mimic Sporty’s famous gold tooth and a gold gem sticker on my nose to give the illusion of a nose ring. Mom was not thrilled about it.)

Fast forward to the present, my heart broke when I couldn’t purchase tickets and jump on an airplane to the Spice Girls reunion tour in the UK. While they didn’t bring their reunion tour over to the States, you might be relieved to find out that Wannabe has stepped in to bring you the tribute that you and I deserve this Thursday at Supernova

This Toronto group of besties has tirelessly studied the looks, choreography, personas, and accents to emulate The Spice Girls for the past ten years. Prepare your jelly bracelets and Lipsmackers; it’s as close to an authentic experience as you’re gonna get. Get there early. Seattle’s first (and only?) boy band tribute act will be dancing and performing an array of boy band essential tracks beforehand.
